I really love this phone, but peole that i know have the phone say that it is really expensive to replace because if you drop it, it is not fixable, you would have to get a new one. Cute but not worth for that price. The price should be lower.

That is definatly something i wouldn’t waste my money on. It comes in three colours at the most, it has a cheap reception concidering it’s only how thick? yeah don’t even bother. I know a few people that HAD this cellphone returned it bought a nice little one decent size for less then half the price of this phone, and i bet it will last longer, better reception and take pictures too.

I bought a Razr phone from giftronics also, found them on froogle. First of all when I was checking out the price was like $189 then after submitting my credit card info the price suddenly jumped to 198 to include sales tax which should not be charged for out of state purchases in the first place. Anyways I ordered on Dec 1, they have not replied to any of my emails and do not answer their phone. I alreaady contacted my bank and back charged them! you guys should do the same!

    Oh oh

I ordered something else from gifttronics.
I can’t either get on hold of them, their phone sounds like disconnected and have had only one email answered, with “delayed” shipping shcedule.

I also found them using Google’s Frogle, and believed on them.

I received an email from them with a received message.
    My card shows no charge..yet
Should I order my bank to don’t accept a charge from them?

I too purchased this phone from giftronics.biz . I have not been able to get a hold of anyone. I have become concerned. On their “about us page” it shows a picture of a woman. I can’t exactly remember the title they give her but I do remember her first name was Judith. This page has now disaappeared for me. However, before it did I looked at the properties of the image. It contained the name Pat Miller. I googled this name and found a Pat Miller, Secretary of Commerce for the State of Indiana. The same picture was used. I am begining to believe this is all a scam. Let’s keep the info coming.

I too placed an order from giftronics.com thinking it was a good deal. I also received the same everyone else did. I tried calling them but kept getting a busy signal. That’s when I started thinking this company could be a fake. Most companies have automated answering services that directs your call to customer service. Even if they don’t have something like that an answering machine is turned on after hours. They have nothing? What kind of business is that? I decided to look up the area code(866) they gave on the website. It does not exist. The area code for Los Angeles should be 213. Next I tried doing a reverse address look up on www.dexonline.com. They address given on the website exists, except there are many other companies in the same building. Their company was not found. I also found another website using froogle that is almost a copy: ppinc.easystorecreator.com/store.asp. They have the same address in Los Angeles, the same area code(866), and the same set up. I would suggest canceling your credit card. They have your credit card number now and can use it anywhere they want to.

Hey everyone! I bought a phone from this so called giftronics.biz company (I also found the website off of froogle) on November 24th and I never received my phone. I thought I was getting a good deal getting the phone for only $189. They did charge me $198.45. I tried calling them many times and only got a busy signal. I live in a suburb of LA so I went to the supposed address and it doesn’t exist. I would suggest your report it to this website:
    www.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp
I think if we all report our being taken advantage of we might actually get these people in trouble.
Also, I would cancel the credit card or have them change the number of the credit card you paid with. I did that tonight.
Do not buy from this company!!!

I also tried to purchase a Razr from Giftronics, needless to say I’m not happy. Following up on michaels entry I found that the website: ppinc.easystorecreator.com/ store.asp, asks all who send money orders or checks to make them payable to “JPK”. An individual from craigslist (Racer X5/http://forums.craigslist.org/?act=Q&ID=36490027) complained that they never received two phones they had ordered from giftronics.biz, and stated that a credit card payment was made to: JKAUFMAN10018@YAHOO.CO - 646-2193454 NY. JKaufman/JPK–coincidence?

I have also purchased something from that company, I have not cancelled my credit card, however I have looked into them, and I have noticed they change their name to keep from getting caught. I am going to call the website host, and tell them, and then report it to that local police station, and give them this forum to use to gather evidence. I am going to see if my credit card can track the account it was shipped to and see if I can do something from there. If anyone would like to help, then I guess the best thing we can do is pool our resources together. Post what new stuff you have dug up on the company, and if we all work together we can possibly beat them at their own game. Thanks Ross for all that key information above, and I think I might do the same with that new company. That number they gave me to call with my order confirmation number was tracked to their new website too, so if I can back track the number through yellow pages or a private investigator, and have the account names for the phone number shipped to me, then I can use that as proof too. Any suggestions about anything else to do? If you would like to contact me then leave a message on this forum, and we can try to get into more direct contact. Thank you, and I wish you all the happiest of holidays, and this grinch will soon get what he deserves.

Wow, I am so glad that I looked into this Purpose Promotions. I was just about to order the Ipod Video today. Something told me to look into it a little further. I must say I am disappointed that I will not be able to get the video since reg price is just more than I planned to spend, so I must settle on the nano. But on the other hand, I would have been so much more disappointed to have ordered it and never recieved it. I can’t believe they are getting away with this. I hope something is done to permanantly put these people out of their so called buisness. Happy new year to all.

I’m a Purpose Promotions “customer”. My check was signed on the back by “Jason Kaufman/JPK” and cashed at a Keybank in Albany NY on Jan 10th. I still don’t have my gear.
How can we get this guy?

I also got taken by this creep. I found a site [site removed by admin] on searching for Jason Kaufman. He works at RadioShack in the Crossgates Mall, Albany I believe and is a student in Binghamton U, NY. His picture is at this site also. Google Jason S. will also get you similar info including his picture. I have the police trying to nail him, via his signature on my check.

Admin note: Jason S. is not in any way affiliated with the scam of giftronics.

Barbara, I also do not see the connection between the two. However, if the police want additional victims, please post which police dept. is investigating it, and how to contact them. ppinc.easystorecreator.com has already been shut down, and I complained to Lycos (aka Tripod) about the PurposePromotions.com site. I also filed with www.ifccfbi.gov and with labbb.org (Los Angeles Better Business Bureau). But I am much more interested in filing directly with the police. If all of us that were taken in by this guy swallow our pride and file, then he is much more likely to get caught.
AND more importantly, the higher the money amount involved (i.e., the more of us that file), the less likely he’ll be able to plea down to a misdemeanor when he does get caught.

Guys. I’m another victim of this fraud. Don’t wait. File a police report. There are hundreds of victims. Please publish police department contact info that runs evestigation. Below is some other info that I found in other forums:

OK, Doing my own research about giftronics.biz, this is what I have found. He uses four company names under ppinc.easystorecreator.com/store.asp www.giftronics.biz purposepromotions.com All run under a division of JPK Inc. Two names that are used: Craig Chernoff J Kaufman I have these email addresses: cancellation@purposepromotions.com info@purposepromotions.com ppinc@usa.com JKAUFMAN10018@YAHOO.COM giftronics_mail@yahoo.com shop@giftronics.biz SHIPPING@GIFTRONICS.BIZ cchernoff89125@aol.com orders@purposepromotions.com I have these phone numbers: 1-866-307-6351 1-866-950-5252 1-646-219-3454 I have the following mailing addresses that go to a mail collecting center in California: www.mailservicecenter.com/contactus.htm 8721 Santa Monica Boulevard, # 1053, Los Angeles, CA 90069-4507 9609 Aubs Lane, Glen Allen, VA UNITED STATES, 23060 I have personally filed a complaint against all the companies that he has with the Internet Fraud Complaint Center www.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp and the Better Business Bureau in Virginia complaint.bbb.org/ and California www.labbb.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Complaint/ComplaintInformationPage.aspx?sm=. I placed an online order through www.giftronics.biz back on November 25 and never received anything. Looks like they are using different names to cash checks. Now www.giftronics.biz is dead.

I believe these 2 sites are both scamming to get checks sent to them. I ordered 2 Ipod’s from them in Nov. via a CC. They charged the CC and never shipped a thing. My CC Co. reversed the charges while I was on the phone to them with my 1st complaint. I feel bad for anyone who sent a check or MO to them. If it’s too good to be true…..

To everyone taken in by Giftronics/Purpose Promotions/etc:

Again, the more people that file complaints with www.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp the more likely they will actually make a serious attempt to find this guy.

Even if your credit card company stopped the charges, that won’t stop the guy from either (a) using the info later, or (b) selling the info.

FILE A COMPLAINT (the following web site is partnered with the fbi).
    www.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp

Note yet another similar thread at:
    forum.pcvsconsole.com/viewthread.php?tid=17748&page=4

Note that Lycos still hasn’t closed the Tripod site (I filed a complaint with them last week): purposepromotions.com aka purposepromotions.tripod.com (there is a link at the very top of the page to report “abuse”. But don’t substitute this route for reporting it to the fbi (www.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp).

I should have known better to send a check instead of using a credit
card but the price was lower. There’s no fool like an old fool!!!!!
Concluding, I have filed a complaint with the L.A. BBB & The Internet

  78. Roxy said:

My check to JPK was cashed in Albany, NY, at a Keybank on 1/10/06. The name on the back was Jason Kaufman.

My bank has refused to reimburse me for the charge because I “willingly” entered into business with someone and provided them with my check/account #. The fact that I never received anything and was defrauded by California penal code 532 PC doesn’t mean anything to the bank, apparently. So, now it’s up to me to get retribution from this S.O.B. who I have no idea who he is.

I did file a police report with my local agency and had them forward the report to Albany Police Dept. for them to do follow-up investigation and hopefully track him down. FYI, though, property crimes divisions in any police department are swamped with these kinds of schemes, so the more information you provide them with (i.e. which bank # they cashed the check at on what date, etc.) they might be able to get the teller video from that date and find him.

  79. zalman said:

    on February 14th, 2006 at 10:23 pm

i was also scammed by sending purpose promotions a check and it was also cashed by jason in albany

i did a search for jason kaufman in the area of albany where the bank is located
and i got these three names
    www.whitepages.com/10001/log_feature/search_suggestion/search/Find_Person?firstname=j&firstname_begins_with=1&name=kaufman&city=albany&state_id=NY&metro_area=1&search_suggestion=1&query_type=364

since he was using jpk i would assume its the third which is jason p kaufman
i can also assume he had a real bank account to his name

i filled a report with the feds and the la bbb dept.
never got a answer from the feds and the bbb said they are closing the report because there was no reply

if anyone has any info please let me know

i wonder if someone would call him (assuming he is one of these 3) and tell him the police are on him and scare the hell out of him maybe he would refund the money.

he is prob a student having a blast

    www.giftronics.biz is now

    big-e.easystorecreator.com/

    Also working under

    big-eshop.com/

I found a website under froogle that just looked too good to be true, They were smart enough to charge almost what the items cost, but knowing that they were things on there site that they couldn’t be selling at that price unless it came from an illegal source I did some research.

What I found was that is just a reincarnation of

    ppinc.easystorecreator.com/
    www.giftronics.biz
    purposepromotions.com

All run under a division of JPK Inc.

This “Company” asks people to send checks or money orders, and after they receive payment they never contact people back, after a couple of weeks the site disappears and a new one appears.

    They have used the names

    Craig Chernoff
    J Kaufman

And this is the information used now (They asked me to send the payment to):

Are feds doing anything about it at all? With all their resources and leads on this site this case could be closed in one week. They have so much info by now - banking account numbers in Albany, and possibly camera shots from the bank, plus all this billing info for domain and store registration. It is not like we are looking for a UFO or ghosts. What’s the point of just closing the website when you find the same one opened under the same name at the same merchant provider? Jason K is probably laughing his butt off by now.

I feel absolutely foolish but I fell for it and sent these guys a personal check. Now they have my bank name and account number. Should I close my account and open an new one?

They haven’t tried to cash the check and I now have a stop payment on it. It was less than $100 - think they will leave me alone and go after a bigger fish?

My first thought is to close the account but then I thought that I write checks and hand them over all the time. I normally don’t hand them over to known scam artits though.

I’m upset about this, what do you guys think?

Everyone should send as many e-mails as possible to news agencies about Jason Kaufman/JPK, Inc. Getting it out in the open is the best way to get people to listen and look into this guy. My girlfriend got taken too and it sickens me that someone would do this.

I strongly suggest that anyone that was scammed by elsider.com file a complaint with the FBI at www.ic3.gov/ ASAP (it’s actually seems very simple), I am also 100% sure these are the same people as jump-electronics.com and bew-electronics.com so spread the word!! We have to take these bastards down! Repost this wherever you can. jump-electronics.com is whois protected by whoisprotector.com so we cannot see who registered it, but their operations are a violation of whoisprotector.com’s service agreement so please write to:

    WhoisProtector, Inc.
    1 North State Street
    Suite 1250
    Chicago, IL 60602
    Phone: 312-994-7654
    Email: info@whoisprotector.com

to notify them of this activity to see if they will take action also, to my understanding they will have to contact authorities such as the FBI in order to avoid them from being taken down in the wrath that is to hit the criminals that are behind this.

And let me tell you that it is the most wonderful phone ever! I also got my phone for the 100$ followed by the 50$ rebate. Now, I know some people think these phones are crappy. But I honestly find that the razor is a wonderful, innovate new phone, adding style and functionality to the everyday task of calling, text messaging, and taking delightful photographs! I use my phone constantly! I just love texting and talking, knowing that not only do I stand out, but people can see how much good taste and style I have every time I pick up the phone! GO RAZOR, it’s the best phone ever and I hope new equally cool phones come out soon, all the other phones look SO old school compared to the razor!

I seriously think that you need to lower the price so that normal people and not just rich ass people can buy this phone or even one like it. I don’t get how you people can sell it for so much. And just in the US. Come on give other people a chance too. I mean I live in the US and am a US citizen born and raised but come on that don’t really seem fair. Lower the price and you might sell more. Hmmm that’s a thought.
