iPod Nano Belt: the Next Generation of Cool
This iPod Belt is the next generation of cool ipod gadgets.
It’s called the TuneBuckle and its actually made of good quality leather, too! In the belt buckle, as you can see, you place your iPod Nano (and it looks like decent protection… as long as you don’t skateboard that is…). The Tunebuckle is avaliable in either black or white for $49.95.
Creative Zen Vision: M Snatches “Best in Show”
CNET gave Creative’s Zen Vision: M the prestigious “Best in Show” award for the 2006 CES.
CNET writes, “When I saw first the Creative Zen Vision:M (30GB) online in December, I thought it was a pretty sweet-looking piece of equipment. It’s even better in person. Sure, it’s quite a bit heftier than the Apple iPod–0.7 inch is thick compared with the iPod’s scant 0.4-inch waist–but this extra girth actually makes the Zen Vision:M feel solid and comfortable in the hand. And the 2.5-inch screen is absolutely gorgeous, brightly displaying 262,144 colors; the iPod is capable of displaying about 65,000. Plus, if you’re looking for extra features such as a voice recorder, subscription music, video support, and an FM tuner and recorder, the Vision:M delivers. This media powerhouse also supports album art and simultaneous photo viewing and music playback–something we yearned for…”
The Best of CES: TVs
Among all of the TVs showcased at CES, two were far cooler than the rest.
First, there’s Sony’s slider tv, the TAV-32FL2. As soon as your done watching tv, or when you want to play a CD, the speaker system actually slides up to hide the TV display.
While this is only a conceptual product right now, Sony executives did hint that this tv might be avaliable on the market before the end of the year.
Another cool tv is Samsung’s HL-S5679W DLP HDTV.
This HDTV has a 56″ screen, and because it is lit by LEDs, there is no “rainbow effect”, a common problem with most DLP HDTVs. Avaliable in April, the HL-S5679 W will retail for $4,199.
The Best of CES: Cameras
Casio, Fujifilm, Kodak, and Sony duke it out for the best new camera at the CES convention. Our top pick, however, was the Casio EX-S6000 EXILIM Card Camera.
It’s a six megapixel camera that is roughly the the shape of playing card. The Casio Card Camera also has anti-shake technology, 3x optical zoom, long battery life, and a 2.2 inch LCD for photo viewing. Wow! Coming in silver, orange, or blue, the Casio Card Camera retails for $400.
Recieving an honourable mention is Kodak’s Easy Share V-570, a dual lens camera.
The V-570 is a pocket camera that specializes in shooting stills. Kodak’s newest addition to the Easy Share line also has built-in image stabilization, 22 scene modes,
and 3x optical zoom. The V-570 will be avaliable soon in January for $399.
