Cook Breakfast with Apple’s Macbooks

Posted in Macbook, Apple by Danielle on July 17th, 2006.

In an attempt to prove the old age saying, “It’s hot enough to fry an egg on it!”, true, one Macbook owner did just that– he fried an egg on the back of his Macbook.

While the egg in question did take considerably longer to fry than it would on a proper frying pan, the fact remains that this Macbook owner actually suceeded in frying an egg using the extraordinary heat generated by his Macbook. He even states that the his Macbook’s processor can create up to 153 degrees (Farenheit) of heat. However, according to this one, unscientific study, Macbooks are not significantly more hot than other notebooks, such as Dell.

While I was browsing the web, I saw this picture, of a Macbook Pro that an owner claims he can cook bacon on . Apple should really take advantage of this marketing scheme– afterall, who wouldn’t want a sweet core duo notebook, with optional cooking options?

Microsoft’s Zune- Update #1

Posted in Mp3 Players, Rumours, Microsoft, Zune by Danielle on July 17th, 2006.

According to Think Secret, Microsoft’s mp3 player in the works, Zune, may perhaps come with a powerful 400 MHz processor for gaming, and also may have a built in tuner that recieves satellite radio broadcasts. With Microsoft prepared to buy the songs you currenty have on iTunes, so that the format will be compatible with the Zune, the Urge music service, a hefty 400 MHz processor for heavy gaming, Wifi, and an optional Sirius or XM radio service, it looks like Apple may finally find itself a serious opponent.

Palm has a reputation for keeping the lild on its projects, so I’m glad to hear that Engadget’s got the specs on Palm’s Treo Hollywood. The Treo Hollywood will allegedly have Windows 5.0, GSM, 128 mb of internal memory, a 412 MHz XScale Processor, and the Treo Hollywood will also be “considerably lighter” than the 700w. Also, Palm’s Treo Hollywood is rumoured to be out around September, the above leaked photo being a prototype.

Turning your Robosapien into a Flameosapien

For obvious reasons, this Robosapien hack is recommended only to those 18 and older. The people at Evosapien.com has produced a step by step guide to turning a docile Robosapien into a dangerous Flameosapien. Read the guide for amusement, but if you’re an acutal Robosapien owner, keep in mind that this is a highly dangerous procedure, involving extremely flammable gas, and not to be attempted by the faint of heart.

The sports kit includes a 2.4 ghz sensor, which fits conveniently inside special Nike shoes (or you coud try to use the sensor with your own shoes, of course), and a iPod Nano reciever. Once you hook up your ipod nano with the transmitter, you can choose to workout for a given time, distance, or to burn a certain number of calories.

The Nike+ website is beautifully designed. On the Nike Plus web site, you can compare yourself to other runners, and track your jogging/running progress over a given period of time (12 days, 12 weeks, or 12 months).
