BlackBerry 8100/Stealth/Pearl

As rumours float unabaited about the web, it becomes clear that RIM will no longer use its “alphabet soup” to name Blackberry phones. The newest BlackBerry, the 8100, was at first thought to be called the “Stealth”, but henceforth has become known as the BlackBerry Pearl. I’m sure that’s a play on the Black Pearl (Pirates of the Caribbean), but it can’t but help RIM’s marketing. The Blackberry 8100 will have a release date of September 18th, and will be coming to T-Mobile. It’s price is also very reasonable: only $199! And for $199, what do you get? RIM’s very first cameraphone with media capabilities, a 65k 240 x 260 display, a micro SD slot, internal memory, and EDGE. Here’s the official press release, which was leaked.

Blackberry 8100 pearl…
