Red iPod Nano for Charity

Apple will be releasing a special red version of the iPod Nano, and 5% of the sales will go towards Bono’s HIV/AIDs charity. Supposedly, Oprah will be revealing this red iPod nano tomorrow on her tv show. Unlike the U2 ipods, the red iPod Nano will cost the same $200 as the other iPod Nanos do. Each red iPod Nano will get codenamed “Project Red” $10, which will then be donated to the Global Fund in order to help Africans suffering from AIDS.

Coby MP-C951 Mp3 Player

Coby’s 20 GB mp3 player, the MP-C951, is finally available in the US. Coby’s MP-C951 plays MP3/WMA/OGG files, has an FM tuner, voice recorder, video playback, and transfers music via USB 2.0. The MP-C951 is available for purchase from J&R or Amazon for $210. DAPreview got their hands on one at J&R in New York, and while they liked the style and “solid build” of the mp3 player, really thought that it was behind on specs, as the C-951 only has 12 hours of battery life, is limited to 20 GB of memory, and the controls were, at times, over-sensitive.
