Lenovo’s Bejing Olympics Themed Laptop

Lenovo has announced a laptop in anticipation for the 2008 Bejing Olympic Games. The red and black case design is similar to the design of the Olympic torches, which Lenovo is also producing. The laptop will have a 12.1 inch XGA display, as well as Intel’s L2400 Core 2 Duo processor. Currently, the price and the release date for this laptop are unknown.
Motorola KRZR K1- Now in Champagne Gold!

No one knows how to remarket phone like Motorola. After creating the RAZR in all possible shades (including red, pink, magenta, green, blue, black, silver, and gold), Motorola decided to churn out the newest Motorola phone, the KRZR K1 (krazer, crazer, etc.) in gold. Unfortunately, the limited edition gold KRZR K1 will only be available in Hong Kong, for a currently undisclosed price.
Vudu- Videos on Demand Box

Vudu is another start up company offering videos on demand via a set top box. The New York Times wrote a glowing review of the company, stating that “Vudu, if all goes as planned, hopes to turn America’s televisions into limitless multiplexes, providing instant gratification for movie buffs. It has built a small Internet-ready movie box that connects to the television and allows couch potatoes to rent or buy any of the 5,000 films now in Vudu’s growing collection. The box’s biggest asset is raw speed: the company says the films will begin playing immediately after a customer makes a selection.” Vudu has already attracted most of the major studios, and has P2P sharing that lowers bandwith. The Vudu Set Top Box will cost $300, but Vudu founder Tony Miranz is confident that people will be won over by Vudu’s ready to buy or rent video collection of over 5,000. I have all the best hope for Vudu, but the video on demand market is already bloated, with Apple’s iTV, TiVo, and Xbox 360 services.

Google Concept Phone

The good folks at DogorGod have created a possible design for the Google Phone. This rendering shows the Google Phone as dual faced, meaning that one side could be used for messaging, while the other side is used for internet browsing. The Google Phone also sports soft keys, keys that can change their purpose depending on circumstances (incoming calls, text messaging, etc.). Although this rendering of the Google Phone may not be entirely accurate, you’ve got to admire the beauty of its design.
