iPhone Jailbreak v1.1.1- Get Your 3rd Party Apps On!

After releasing the firmware update 1.1.1, many iPhone and iPod Touch users were devastated. Their previous jail-broken phones and pods were returned to their original state. Hacker Niacin (or toc2rta) and Dre have combined the previous symlink hack and a TIFF vulnerability in v1.1.1 firmware’s mobile Safari, which then grants access to the file system. Engadget has confirmed that this hack works, and Niacin plans to make the hack available to the public soon. The only problem is that Niacin’s hack can be easily patched if Apple patches the TIFF vulnerability. Looks like we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!
Update: iPhoneSimFree has an upgrade to their first hack, which successfully hacks update 1.1.1 and even restores life to “bricked” iPods. Best of all, the upgrade is free for previous iPhoneSimFree purchasers. Click here for more information.
