Apple’s iPhone
There have been a lot of rumours recently regarding Apple’s endeavors to possible create a Macphone/iPhone (a phone with portable music playing capabilities, not unlike Sony’s line of music playing phones).
When an analyst asked CFO Oppenheimer of Apple about the impact of Sony’s Music phones, he responded “We are very confident in our ability to compete in the marketplace. And we’re very excited about what we have in the product pipeline, and you know that I can’t comment on that… As regards cell phones, we don’t think that the phones that are available today make the best music players. We think the iPod is. But over time, that is likely to change. And we’re not sitting around doing nothing.” So there you have it, Apple’s not “sitting around doing nothing” in regards to the possible iPhone project: it’s probably in development.
