The IdeaPad S10 is Lenovo’s first attempt at a Netbook (a small, low-powered ultra-portable laptop). With a starting price of $399, this 10.2-inch 1.6 MHz Atom-processor powered netbook has a 512 mb of RAM and an 80 GB Hard Drive. For $450, the Lenovo S10 comes with 1 GB of RAM and a 160 GB Hard Drive. Initially, the S10 will run Windows XP; however, later, the S10 will be also available in Linux. Both versions have a 1024 x 600 LED back-lit display, WiFi, Bluetooth, ExpressCard, 1.3 megapixel camera, and a 4-in-1 card reader. Additionally, the S10’s touchpad allows for multi-touch gestures. My hat’s off to this Vietnamese forum. One of their members managed to grab a hold of Fujitsu’s upcoming Lifebook U2010 and fully investigate it! We now know that the U2010 will sport an Atom CPU (either at 1.6 or 1.8 GHz), a 5.6″ 1024×768 display, 1 GB of RAM, an 80 GB Hard Drive, a 3G Radio, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Additionally, this lilliputian UMPC will weigh under 680 grams (1.5 pounds)! We don’t yet know where or when the U2010 Lifebook will be launched, but we do know that it will cost around $1300.

The Q1UP-V Ultraportable Notebook boasts an Intel Centrino Processor, 2 GB of RAM, an 80 GB Hard Drive, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a biometric fingerprint reader, and a 7″ 1024×600 touch screen. The Dell E and the Dell E Slim look set to take on the Eee PC and the Macbook Air. The 8.9″ Dell E has subcategories: the Dell E Classic, a low end computer, and the Video E or Video+, which come with more RAM, more flash storage, webcams, and even Bluetooth for the Video+. The 12.1″ Dell E Slim is 0.8″ thick and looks to compete with the Macbook Air. Although it is less endowed, the Dell E Slim is also cheaper. The Dell E is set to launch in August, while the Dell E Slim will launch in either late August or early September. Both the Dell E and the Dell E Slim run Windows XP and Linux. At a slender 0.70″ thick, the Voodoo Envy 133 replaces the Macbook Air’s hefty 0.76″ to claim the title of “World’s Thinnest Laptop [for now]“. The Voodoo Envy 133 is available in black or white, weighs 3.4 lbs, has a 13.3″ display, and starts at $2,099. Other features include Ethernet, an 64 GB solid state drive, Carbon Fiber casing, Wifi, a multiple gesture keypad, an integrated webcam, an external optical disk drive, and a back lit keyboard. Wow, I’m envious. The Voodoo Envy 133 will be available on June 20th!

The MusicPad Pro Tablet seems like a useful electronic for composing musicians. The MusicPad Pro has a 12.1″ TFT colour touch screen display, 1024×768 resolution, 64 mb of internal memory, video/audio out, 2 USB ports, and is extremely portable. With the MusicPad Pro, you gain access to FreeHand’s online store of downloadable sheet music, where prices range from $1.95 to $59.95.  Although the MusicPad Pro is aimed at musicians, I would imagine that not many musicians would be able to afford it at its hefty price of $899. New pictures of Everex’s Cloudbook Max, the ultra-portable laptop from VIA, have surfaced. The Cloudbook Max will have a 1.6 GHz processor, a 8.9 inch LCD display with 1024×600 resolution, an 80 GB hard-drive, 2 GB of RAM, two built-in 2 megapixel cameras, S-Video output, Bluetooth, an integrated GPS receiver, 802.11b/g WiFi, and WiMax support.
