Samsung’s New SyncMaster 245BW and 226CW LCDs
Samsung added two new LCDs to their line-up: the 245BW and 226CW. The Samsung SyncMaster 245BW has a 1920×1200 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400cd/m2 brightness, and a 5ms response time. The Samsung SyncMaster 226CW LCD has a 1680×1050 resolution, 300cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and a 2ms response time. You can get the Samsung 245B for $550, and the Samsung 226CW for a price of $380. Andrew Swihart writes a Pro-Con list for the 226CW:

- Extremely good response time for smear-free gaming and movies
- Great color possible with a custom ICC profile
- Beautiful housing design looks a lot better than typical computer equipment
Cons
- Color out of the box is pretty awful, with a strong blue shift
- Poor viewing angle, typical of gaming LCDs with TN panels, results in a lack of display homogeneity
- Lack of inputs other than DVI and VGA”
