Let’s hear a warm welcome for Motorola’s MOTORIZR Z8- the world’s first “kick slider”, with a form factor meant to fit more comfortable up against your face.

Some of the features of the MOTORIZR Z8 include Symbian OS, 3.6 Mbps HSDPA data, a 1.2 x 2 inch QVGA 16 million colour display, 2 megapixel camera in the back with the ability to capture MPEG-4 or 3gp, VGA camera in the front for video conferencing, 90 mb of internal memory, a microSD expansion slot, A2DP Bluetooth, and up to 5 hours of GSM talk time or 16 days of standby. Even with all these specs, the MOTORIZR Z8 manages to be an anorexic 15.3 mm thin. We have no word on the price of the Z8, but it is expected to launch in Europe and the UK around April.

Motorola’s ROKR E2 Review

Posted in Phones, Motorola by Danielle on January 4th, 2007.

Motorola’s ROKR E2 is the successor to the E1, obviously, and has seemingly much improved over the dismal E1.

While the ROKR E1 was all hype, the E2 seems to have some substance. Indeed, MobileBurn reviewed one unit, and came away “very happy”. The ROKR E2 candy bar phone has GSM/EDGE, Motorola’s JUIX (Java/Linux), new tabbed menus,a 2 inch TFT screen, a 1.3 megapixel camera, WMA/MP3/AAC support, and external memory SD expansion (up to 2 GB). The E2 has quicker loading times, an improved address book, dropped iTunes in favour of more multimedia options, and the music sounded “excellent”. The phone comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and music can be played while other functions are performed. Overall, the phone is “highly recommended.” The ROKR E2 is available through various online retailers.

Motorola KRZR Fire- in Red!

Posted in Phones, Motorola, KRZR by Danielle on December 15th, 2006.

Once again, Motorola diversifies its gadgets through multiple colour choices.

Like Motorola’s ubiquitious RAZR, we can be fairly certain that the KRZR will, too, become available in many different colours.  This Red KRZR “Fire” is exactly the same as the other KRZRs, but with a more vermillion tint.  Right now, the KRZR fire is only available in Korea, but it should be coming to the US within a couple of years.

Motorola’s L7E Candybar

Motorola’s L7E is usually looked at as a SLVR reincarnated in a higher form, or KRZR candy bar.

Motorla’s SLVR L7E Candybar phone sports a 1.3 megapixel camera, quad band GSM/EDGE, 20 mb of internal memory, microSD slot for expansion, Bluetooth supporting A2DP for stereo music, and a multimedia player. Expect the L7E to be available by the end of 2006.
