The Sidekick ID
T-Mobile will soon launch the Sidekick ID: a slimmed down, budget version of the ever popular Sidekick III.

The Sidekick ID will have many features similar to the original Sidekick III- full QWERTY keyboard, and AIM/MSN messengers. However, unlike the Sidekick III, the Sidekick ID will NOT have Bluetooth, an mp3 player, digital camera, or microSD slot. If you don’t mind the slim features, and cheesy color options, the Sidekick ID is expected to go on sale April 18, 2007, with an estimated price of $99 (after a $50 rebate).
T-Mobile’s Limited Edition Sidekick 3s
We’ve already caught a glimps of LRG’s limited edition Sidekick 3, but here’s Diane von Furstenburg’s limited edition Sidekick 3.

Diane von Furstenburg’s Sidekick 3 sports a bold, black paint job, with hot pink key accents and red lips around the screen for contrast. Besides the appearance, the Sidekick 3’s specifications remain the same. Both Diane von Furstenburg’s limited edition Sidekick 3 and LRG’s green limited edition Sidekick 3 should be available online and in store October 30 for purchase. However, you should expect the price to be bumped up about $50 to have a limited edition version.

LRG Limited Edition Sidekick 3
Images of a limited edition Sidekick 3, produced by Lifted Research Group, were found in an XXL magazine.

T-Mobile had promised that the Sidekick 3 would eventually come in different limited edition models, as the previous Sidekick II did, so it’s good to see these limited editions coming around. We don’t know when this limited edition will be released, or the price of this Sidekick 3, but I’d venture that the LRG Limited Edition Sidekick 3 will cost about $50 more than the regular Sidekick 3.
Paris Hilton’s Sidekick 3

Paris Hilton would not settle for a normal Sidekick 3. Instead, she got it uniquely iced by Crystal Icing. She was quoted as saying, “I like my new sidekick! it’s hot!”. You too, can have your Sidekick 3, or any other electronic for that matter, iced out by Crystal Icing as long as you’re willing to pay exhorbitant prices (full Sidekick 3 icing starts at around $325).
T-Mobile Sidekick 3 Pictures and Specs!

As T-Mobile has so kindly requested, the Sidekick III must be hereforth refered to as the Sidekick 3, as the Roman number is much more dignified than the Roman numeral. Or something like that. Anyways, the official specs are as follows:
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- Size: 130 x 59 x 21.8 mm
- Weighs 6.7 oz
- 240 x 160 pixel 65,000 colour display
- Bluetooth 1.2
- mini SD memory card slot
- 64 mb of RAM and Flash Memory
- Tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
Engadget also managed to get their hands on a Sidekick 3 before releasal (those lucky ducks!). They noticed that, “Just as the Sidekick II was with the original Sidekick, the Sidekick is at heart just an evolution and enhancement of its predecessor. The big improvements? Bluetooth, a memory card slot, a better camera, more memory, a music player, and a trackball.”
Sidekick 3– hands on!
