LG Unveils XD1 Hard Drives

LG is bravely attempting to take over Western Digital’s stronghold on the External Hard Drive market with it’s new line of XD1 Hard Drives. Each sleek XD1 Hard Drive comes with a 2.5-inch HDD with a SATA II interface and a USB 2.0 port, and the hard drives are available in black or dark red. There’s no word on pricing or launch date, but you can expect the XD1 to be available in 120 GB, 160 GB, 250 GB, and 320 GB versions in the future. Read more here!

Designed to look exactly like a hardcover book (albeit a hardcover with blinking lights) and blend in inconspicuously on your bookshelf, the Wizplatz boasts a SATA drive, a USB 2.0 device with an internal power supply, and a sleek design. Western Digital’s My Passport Hard Drive is available in all colors of the rainbow- from Vibrant Pink to Raindrop Blue to Super Sunny Yellow. And yes, those really are the official names. My Passport Essential has storage in 160 GB, 250 GB, and even 320 GB. Special features include synchronization, 128-bit encryption, and pre-installed Google software. Seagate has released a new 750 GB External Hard Drive.


Seagate’s new 750 GB Pushbutton External Hard Drive will back up most people’s entire music, dvd, and photo collections. It connects via a USB 2.0 and has Fire Wire, and is 750 GB in a single hard drive (not split up into two seperate drives that add up to 750 GB). You can grab one next month for $559.
