BGR received some leaked T-Mobile snapshots that depict the Sidekick 2008 (nicknamed the Sidekick Gecko), which will launch on July 31st. Despite the rather lame name, the Sidekick 2008 boasts some nice features. The Sidekick 2008 will have Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, a 2 megapixel camera, a 2.6″ WQVGA screen, video recording, and stereo A2DP Bluetooth. You will also be able to customize your Sidekick 2008 via customizable shells. No word on pricing, but since the Sidekick 2008 is an entry-level phone, it will probably be around $200.
Pantech’s newly released Sky IM-U300K phone has a 2.2 inch 320×240 screen, a 2 megapixel camera, a 0.3 megapixel camera for video calling, a built-in DMB tuner, HSDPA, and media playing capabilities. The Sky IM-U300K is a tri-band GSM phone. It’s selling feature (for tweenage girls, anyway) is 8 LEDs on the front of the phone, which can be customized to make hearts, stars, or anything else. Say hello to the world’s smallest karaoke machine. Measuring a mere 2.75″x2.75″x2.75″ cube, the Tomy Hi-Kara Karaoke Machine has a 2.4 inch screen that displays song lyrics and animated graphics. In order to actually use the machine, you’ll have to download songs from the Hi-Kara website. There are two microphone/headset devices, and the Karaoke Machine is available in pink or white. Sony Ericsson added a low-powered camera phone to their Snapshot phone line today. The S302 only has a 2.0 megapixel camera, but it also has 2.5x digital zoom, photo fix and photo light features, picture blogging, video light, and video recording capabilities. Additionally, Sony Ericsson’s S302 boasts a 2″ TFT screen, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, FM Radio, Access NetFront browser, 20 mb of internal memory, and a Memory Stick Micro expansion slot. Sony Ericsson is having some trouble keeping upcoming announcements under wraps. Above is the Sony Ericsson F305 Gaming Phone, a quad-band GSM phone. It has EDGE, a Memory Stick Micro slot, a 2 inch 176×220 display, music playback, an accelerometer for gaming, and gaming dedicated buttons. Nevertheless, gaming phones have never really taken off, probably because they lack the hardware to perform as well as users would like. Read more here!
